I recommend 45-minute lessons for adults and children over 7, as it allows for more hands-on instruction, teacher-guided playing time and work-shopping of pieces, all of which makes student at-home practice more efficient and progressive. And that leads to faster progress! Lessons run from September to June and follow the 40-week school calendar, but students may start at any time of the academic year.
