IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO LEARN!

Photo on 2017-10-28 at 5.16 PM #2.jpg

Having not learned piano myself till later in life, I have a particular understanding of adults who would like to learn to play an instrument but feel it is too late to learn. I understand the unique challenges of learning as an adult, as well as how precious learning piano can be to a small child, having wanted to learn my whole life.

I am dedicated to making learning piano

easier than you think and welcome students of all ages!

I have composed over 60 pieces of music and the instrumental version of my award-winning song, Resurrection Morn, was performed by the Faith Bible Church Orchestra (Winnipeg) in 2014. I am currently composing an oratorio/passion play.

TUNE UP YOUR BRAIN WITH MUSIC!

TM

And reap the cognitive and recreational benefits!

I believe music is a form of intelligence on par with any other intellectual discipline and opens up other areas of the brain. I have personally experienced its dramatic impact on language learning and communication, as well as other surprising benefits. For example, after only 6 months of piano lessons, I was shocked to discover that I had developed an aptitude for Mandarin, a language that previously had been almost impossible for me. And not only Mandarin, but suddenly other languages, such as Persian, also became a breeze.

How might it change you?

IT STARTS WITH THAT 1ST LESSON

And Builds From There.

Learning music should not only be fun, but it should also produce well-rounded musicians who can delve into new music and musical pursuits without the aid of a teacher. Through a solid foundation of proper physical approach, technique and good practice habits, exploration of varied repertoire and continual development of all essential components of music making, students will be well on their way to musical independence. And since learning styles can be so different, I will do my best to maximize each student’s unique way of learning.

DENTAL FLOSS FOR THE BRAIN!

Don't Underestimate the Power of Learning Theory!

After doing a harmony exam, I noticed that my written communication skills had dramatically improved. And after composing a particularly complex song, I found that I suddenly enjoyed jazz, a genre that I had previously found irritating! When I shared this with my composition teacher, she quipped, “Composition is like dental floss for the brain!”

Optimize yours! By simplifying concepts and identifying easy-to-remember patterns, I can help you succeed at theory. It, too, is

easier than you think!

BENEFITS AS UNIQUE AS YOU

Discover Yours!

Understanding the value of music can be a powerful motivator for for the teacher, student and/or parent because the benefits are guaranteed, regardless of the student’s ability or skill level. It simply requires participation and diligent practice. If these are present, then spin-off benefits will also be, even if they’re not readily apparent.

Exactly what benefits manifest may be as unique as each student. What an exciting prospect to consider!

I'm so glad we came over to you for piano lessons. The boys really like you and I see a difference in how they are  learning. We had a great time at the recital and I appreciate everything you do to try and help them learn!
